Consumer
Health Information
Free online Health Information services for health consumers. HIMAA offers this collection of internet hot links as a service to health consumers visiting our web site in search of general health information. We have provided a few links to sites that appear to provide coverage of a wide variety of general health topics. We do not monitor these sites quality or reliability of information, and assume no responsibility for their content or any actions that may be taken as a result of information they provide. The links to these sites are primarily provided as an Internet information access starting point for health consumers, who are encouraged to talk to their own Healthcare Professionals, Health Education Officers and local Healthcare Services for further information and understanding about any personal health concerns. HIMAA being a professional society, is primarily concerned with the support of members who work in the health records, health information management, electronic health records, clinical coding and health IT fields. It does not collect nor provide clinical information about health conditions. However, we do offer a Comprehensive Medical Terminology Course by distance education for those who need a more thorough understanding of medical terminology. ( For more information on our range of distance education courses see http://www.himaa.org.au/education ). We also publish a very useful Australian Dictionary of Clinical Abbreviations, Acronyms & Symbols (For more information about our publications see http://www.himaa.org.au/bookstore.html ) If you know of a free online consumer health information search tool or peer review resource that we could consider for inclusion on this page, please e-mail your recommendations to information@himaa.org.au. We reserve the right not to publish any information submitted. AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT - HEALTH WEB SITES Health Insite
