Coding and Casemix Manager - Grade 4 - Eastern Health, Melbourne, Vic.

A new direction in the delivery of casemix and coding service within Eastern Health has lead to the creation of a new position that will be pivotal in leading the service and providing strategic direction.  The services will aim to deliver high quality coding supported by ongoing relevant training that will maximise WIES for the Eastern Health.  

We are looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of DHS Admission policy, Casemix Funding Guidelines, DHS administrative data reporting and extensive coding experience who can lead a team of campus coding coordinators to create a service responsive to campus needs.  Excellent communications skills are required.  Best practice in the industry is our aim.  With the right person we know that a lot can be achieved and see this as an outstanding opportunity for someone who has vision and a drive to deliver a service that is one of the best.

3 Clinical Coders - (Full time) - Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand.

Auckland City Hospital is a large tertiary teaching hospital within Auckland District Health Board, Auckland, New Zealand.  The hospital has a diverse casemix with approximately 10,000 separations a month, offers flexible working hours and opportunities for you to develop your coding and casemix skills.  The Service follows the Auckland Regional District Health Board's Clinical Coding Progression Criteria, and accordingly support is provided for coders to attain HIMAA Intermediate and Accredited coder qualifications and to advance their careers.

Health Information Manager - (Full time) - Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg, Vic.

Mercy Hospital for Women is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Health Information Manager to undertake the challenge as a clinical coder, coding auditor and educator.  This is a permanent full time role, however job share may be considered.  This position is ideal for a HIM who has a passion for coding, in particular Obstetric, Gynaecology, Gynaeoncology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit coding.  

Responsibilities include ICD-10-AM coding, internal coding audits and education, as well as mentoring/supporting other HIM staff in relation to coding.  The position will also involve liaisons with; and ongoing presentations to clinicians about coding, casemix and documentation related matters.

The National HPV Vaccination Program Register (NHVPR) is seeking a temporary Data Quality Officer to play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of HPV Vaccination data.  The NHVPR supports the National HPV Immunisation Program for females aged 12 to 26 years.  The Register maintains vaccination records collected from across Australia, sends completion statements and reminders to consumers, and facilitates notification payments to GPs.  You will be part of a small enthusiastic team and will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of activities.  You will conduct data reviews to identify and resolve data problems and issues using MS Access, Excel and report writing tools and contribute to the maintenance and development of data quality related systems and processes.

The successful applicant will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, possess highly developed data extraction and manipulation skills, have good attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication, quality skills and have knowledge and experience of information systems and databases in a health care setting.  A tertiary qualification in Health Information Management or related discipline is desirable.  Excellent salary and conditions are offered.  This position is a 6 month position (flexible hours can be negotiated).
