Austin Health offers statewide services in Liver Transplant, Spinal and Respiratory Support.  The Casemix is wide ranging and covers most specialty areas except Obstetrics.  Austin is a leader with New Technologies in health care such as Percutaneous Heart Valve replacements and the use of Endoscopic Ultrasounds.  Austin Health is implementing new projects such as the scanned medical record as we move toward the electronic record.

Expressions of Interest The School of Public Health at Curtin University is seeking Expressions of Interest for a position as a Lecturer in Health Information Management for 2009.  This position will replace staff on long service leave between the middle of March on a part time basis, with full time commencing in May until the end of December.  There may be the possibility of extension.

The position duties will include co-ordination of units and teaching in the areas of introductory coding and casemix and management of health record services.  It will include involvement in the HIM mentoring program for new students and the coordination and strategic development of the HIM program.  

This position would suite an experienced HIM professional who is seeking a challenge or change of scene or a relatively new graduate who is looking for an opportunity to develop their experience in educating the next group of health information management professionals.  The appointment at Lecturer Level A or B will depend on qualifications and experience.
