Bruce
H Barraclough, AO MB BS FRACS DDU FACS
Bruce Barraclough
is Chair of the Board of the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission. He
is President of the International Society for Quality in Health
Care, Associate Dean (Clinical Strategy) of the University of
Western Sydney Medical School and e-Health Medical Director, CSIRO.
He was President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (1998
- 2001), Professor / Director of Cancer Services, Northern Sydney
Health and the University of Sydney, (2000- 2005) and Chair of the
Australian Council for Safety & Quality in Health Care (2000 -
2005). |

Katy
Gallagher
Katy Gallagheris member for Molonglo in the current ACT Legislative
Assembly, and holds the portfolio responsibilities of Health,
Disability and Community Services, Children and Youth and Women.
Katy Gallagher is a local Molonglo resident who was born in Canberra
in 1970 and grew up in the newly settled Weston Creek area,
attending Duffy Primary, Melrose High and, later, Stirling College.
On completion of her University education at ANU, Katy was involved
in the community sector in various children's services and
disability programs. This included working with children with
disabilities and then becoming an advocate as an organiser with the
CPSU. Since being elected Katy has had the opportunity to work
across a number of portfolios including Education, Industrial
Relations, Health, Children, Disability and Women. This has enabled
her to represent the ACT community at the highest level, advocating
for change, reform and a good deal for the ACT. |

Heather
Grain
Heather Grain is a Health Informatician and HIM with more than
30 years experience in the development and implementation of
electronic information systems in healthcare.
She has served as a
key member of national electronic health information projects in
Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific and holds the positions of
Convenor of ISO TC215 Health Informatics - Semantic Content working
group and Co-Chair of HL7 International Vocabulary Technical
Committee. She is the Chair of Standards Australia IT14 - Health
Informatics and Fellow and Secretary of the Australian College of
Health Informatics, Australia's peak professional health informatics
body.
She has lead
national and international activities on identification of patients
and providers in healthcare, as well as mapping of terminology to
classification and health data development and clinical decision
support systems. Her research includes investigation of the
ontological structures of clinical morbidity data, and the use of
natural language processing as a clinical terminology implementation
mechanism. |
